Bronchiolitis and our happy baby

Three weeks ago tomorrow, Alex started coughing.  Not just your normal, innocent "cold" cough, but a terrible sounding, 40-year-history-of-smoking-cough.  So on Friday, I took him to the doctor's office because he also had a fever. She thought that it could be the beginning of bronchiolitis (caused by RSV, and basically the infant form of bronchitis), but to just watch it.  By Tuesday I was hearing wheezing so I brought him back to the doctor's office, where he confirmed that Alex had bronchiolitis.  Throughout the exam though, in between coughing and wheezing, Alex was smiling and laughing.  The doctor said it was a mild case of bronchiolitis, and to "count my blessings, because he never sees sick babies as happy as Alex."  Just a few days later, still coughing and wheezing, these pictures were taken:

He has continued to be a great, happy baby throughout the duration of the coughing (and continued to sleep great for naps and through the night!).  I think he's better now, and I haven't heard the cough for a couple of days!!  Praise God!!!
