Baby shower for Alex

My sweet friend Ann from church hosted a baby shower for me this weekend!

A few of the girls who were there:

Alyssa and Emily, two of the Bridgewater College girls I mentor and some of Andrew's fabulous babysitters!

Friends from church: Abby (with her adorable daughter Rachel), Melissa and Ann.

It was such a blessing to be showered with love, encouragement and fun gifts!!

RMH Family Day

The hospital where I work (Rockingham Memorial) had a really fun Family Day this past Saturday!  There were pony rides, bouncy houses, games, putt-putt, swimming and tons of free food!!  Having never been, we didn't really know what to expect. It turned out to be a really great day!!

34 weeks!!

Can't believe we're already at 34 weeks!!

Typical Summer Night in Bridgewater

We have really enjoyed our summer in Bridgewater!!  Benny definitely still has plenty of soccer stuff to keep on top of, but we have been blessed to have him around a lot!  This was a pretty common post dinner series of fun events:

We rode our bikes to one of the many parks in Bridgewater (Andrew rides in the bike trailer.)

And then we biked to Dairy Queen!

The events vary from evening to evening, but we are definitely loving the wonderful time together as a family!

July Randoms

Sitting on the horse outside of the Family Dollar. (Notice I say "sitting on"...he doesn't even know that you can turn it on...yet!)

Taking walks around Bridgewater's campus is a pretty common occurance. On this particular morning, he found a tree branch that came along with us!

Just about every morning while I'm drying my hair, Andrew sits on our bed and reads his "Ernie books."  (That's what he calls the Sesame Street books from 1980 that my mom sent to us at Christmas.)  It's so sweet to see him enjoy the books that I remember reading when I was little!

Our sweet, happy little boy.  He is such a blessing!!

Fascinated by the blue tongue his dum dum left.

The car almost always puts our little man to sleep!

4th of July

We bought a few fireworks on the 4th...
Andrew LOVED the snap n pops, but wasn't so fond of the fountains that made noise and had a lot of lights.

Then, we went over to a cookout with our Aletheia church family.  Benny and our friend Brandon dominated some horseshoes, and we had a great time hanging out and eating yummy food!

JMU Arboretum

In the middle of JMU's campus is a beautiful park called the Arboretum.   There are hiking trails, a little pond, and a big hill that Andrew had a blast climbing (and then rolling down!).
