One Big update for May!!
Andrew turned 7 months old on May 4th!
Yummy...styrofoam plates...
My fellas did such an amazing job honoring me for my first Mother's Day!! Andrew and Benny had placed cards all over the house in strategic locations, sharing the reasons why Andrew is thankful for me. Inside each card were several pictures of Andrew, or me and Andrew. Also, Benny framed some super cute pics of Andrew, me and Andrew, and our family for me. That afternoon, Andrew and I met Kathy (Benny's mom) at one of Benny's soccer games and then went out to dinner. It was wonderful!!
Shortly after his 7mo birthday, we had our friend Jose take some pictures of our family. He always does such a fabulous job, and we are so thankful for his talent!
During a cookout with our small group...three of the kiddos "playing" together...Eyla Horning, Andrew and Ian Canfield.
Up until a couple of weeks ago, we would feed Andrew dinner at around 6pm-ish, put him to bed at 8pm-ish and then wake him up at 11:30pm to feed him (then put him to bed and he slept til 8am). This is from one of those 11:30 feedings, which I treasured because he's not so quiet and cuddly during the day anymore! (Now, we feed him before he goes to bed at 8ish and he sleeps til 8am still. We are SOOOOO thankful and praise God for such a good sleeper!!)
The two girls that I have mentored for the last 3 years graduated in May. I'm so proud of them, and excited for what the Lord has next for them, but am sad that I won't be seeing them on a regular basis. This was duing a graduation party for Alison. (She also babysit Andrew quite a bit for us this spring.)
Waiting for Alison's pinning ceremony (for Nursing) to start.
The day Andrew came home from the hospital, AU had a home game (which, of course we went to.) After scoring a goal, Paul Hill (pictured below) ran past Benny, lifted up his jersey and showed him the shirt he's wearing in the picture. So sweet! Paul also graduated in May.
In other news...Benny was rear-ended in an accident on I-69 in the middle of the month. Everyone was okay (thankfully and most importantly), but his Lancer was totaled. We hadn't had a car payment in almost 2 years, and weren't planning on buying another vehicle for awhile, but we needed a replacement vehicle. We purchased a 2007 Rav 4 last week. I definitely never pictured myself owning an SUV (I always thought we'd go from cars to a minivan), but we decided we didn't really need a van yet (and didn't really want to have the lower gas mileage until we had to), the Rav gets great gas mileage, and we are excited about having the extra space.
