This weekend, the Anderson University Men's and Women's Soccer teams had a retreat at Yellow Creek...a small lake/retreat area near Warsaw, IN. Wendy (the head soccer coach's wife) and I got to spend a couple of hours in Wal-Mart on Saturday night shopping for food for the 50+ college students. It was quite a site...we ended up using 4 shopping carts and got LOTS of bewildered looks! Sunday morning, we went to church in Warsaw, and then got to spend the beautiful afternoon on the lake.
Apparently it's a tradition to play "Watermelon Football" at this retreat every year. They smeared butter all over a watermelon and attempted to play football...here are the results.

This is Madison, Coach's 3-year old daughter. She's an absolute handful, but one of the funniest, sweetest kids I know. Just look at that smile!

BBQ at the Galemas!
Last Saturday, I got together with the Galemas, Daughertys, Jonathon Lustig and Kirstin Collette, and Leslie's sister Rebecca to hang out and BBQ. We always have a great time together!
(Soccer preseason started for Benny on the 15th, so he wasn't able to be there with us :(
Last summer at Hilton Head, the guys grew fondly attached to a game called "Blokus." So, apparently it's turned into a little tradition when several of them get to hang out...
Adam had recently purchased Guitar Hero, so we definitely all had to try it out!
Here's Jess, with a little help from Aden.
Leslie's a pro.
Aden LOVED watching everyone play!
Rebecca giving it a go, with Jared watching intently.

Celebrating my Birthday
This weekend my wonderful husband planned an early birthday celebration for me. Saturday night we had dinner at an awesome restaurant in Indianapolis called Rick's Cafe Boatyard. Then, we drove to Lafayette, spent the night at his dad's and have spent all day today enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather outside laying out by his pool. It was wonderful!! (These pictures were taken with my birthday present! A Canon Power Shot 1100....it is the most amazing camera! Thanks Benny, Mom, Dad, Larry, Kathy, Shaun and Kyle!!)
Right next to our table at dinner.
The view from our table at sunset. Unbelievable.
My handsome husband.
What can I say...we're pretty attractive.
Benny's dad, Larry in his old coaching uniform. I love it when he plays dress-up!

Anniversary Trip
Our anniversary isn't until September 3rd, but last weekend we celebrated it a little early. We spent a couple of nights in Cincinnati and hung out at King's Island all day on Saturday. King's Island is a Six-Flags type of amusement park, complete with an awesome waterpark called "Boomerang Bay." We definitely had a blast riding the rides and going down waterslides, but most of all we enjoyed the time together. I'm so blessed to be married to such a godly, loving and FUN man!
The very beginning of the day at the front of the park.
Enjoying our Dippin Dots at Boomergang Bay.
These are the awesome glasses you get to wear for the Sponge Bob ride... one of my favorites.
